Reshaping the way we move is now a global priority. The outbreak of COVID-19 has acted as a catalyst for a rapid transformation in transport services, consumer habits, and mobility business models. Yet, there are significant challenges to preserve the gains made in air quality and congestion, while simultaneously ensuring public health guidelines are respected in a COVID-19 world.

The global transport community is now faced with a valuable opportunity to adapt and develop innovative mobility services that are safe, sustainable, accessible, and resilient for all road users. Now more than ever, the public and private sectors, international institutions, and academia must work in unison for an urban mobility system fit for purpose.

Having reacted rapidly to the disruption caused by COVID-19, the Asia-Pacific region, with its high rates of urbanisation, advanced technology industries, and consumer appetite for innovation, sits at the epicentre of some of the ground-breaking shifts in mobility and transport we are currently witnessing.

In light of this, the FIA Smart Cities initiative will be holding its second Season 4 eForum with a regional focus on Asia-Pacific. The event will gather leaders from international organisations, the public and private sectors, and the FIA Community, who will bring their insights on how cities are adapting to the new mobility normal, on how real-time data are used to measure the pandemic’s impact on road users’ behaviour, and how this data can better guide the decision-making process. Experts in the field of urban transport will present and discuss the future of mobility in a COVID-19 world, looking at some of the possible scenarios for transportation and innovation in this new era.

The eForum will also feature Aurassure, the winner of the Asian edition of the FIA Smart Cities Global Start-Up Contest Season 4, who will pitch their innovative project to the audience.

Another unique feature will be the Expo Hall of the eForum, giving participants the chance to meet FIA Member Clubs, FIA Smart Cities Partners, and Formula E teams in the event’s designated section.
